BAR HARBOR — Tina Scheer of the Great Maine Lumberjack Show will share her talents as she teaches a log rolling class for children and adults on Saturdays, from March 6 through April 10 at the MDI YMCA. The classes happen from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Participants must be at least 8 years old and be deep-end swimmers. BROOKSVILLE — The Brooksville Fishing Derby will be held Sunday, Feb. 21, with fish taken on Pierce, Wight, Billings, Douglas, Woods, Walker, Parker and Snake ponds eligible for the competition.

ELLSWORTH — Slim’s Fishin’ Derby, held in memory of the late Jimmy Douglass of Deer Isle, will be held Feb. 13 and 14 on all three Toddy Ponds in the Blue Hill-Surry-Orland area.

LAMOINE — The second annual Blunt’s Pond Kids Fishing Derby and Family Fun Day will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, at Bloomfield Park in Lamoine.
