AUGUSTA — The Down East Sunrise Trail in Washington County continues to be open for early snowmobile use this winter, although some caution is advised, according to Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands (BPL) and Maine Department of Transportation officials.

BAR HARBOR — Area residents have the chance to participate in the 110th Audubon Christmas Bird Count. Downeast Audubon will host four counts in Hancock County: on Mount Desert Island on Saturday, Dec. 19; in Blue Hill on Sunday, Dec. 20; on the Schoodic Peninsula on Friday, Jan. 1; and on Deer Isle on Saturday, Jan. 2.

TRENTON – The town’s volunteer fire department will host a hunters’ breakfast from 4 to 10 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 31, at the fire station on Oak Point Road.
