Nomination Papers Available Aug. 6 for Municipal Election

ELLSWORTH — The city of Ellsworth has several seats up for re-election this November. To that end, nomination papers will be available Friday, Aug. 6, at the city clerk’s office.

The City Council has three seats up for re-election. The terms of Gary Fortier, Jonathan Mahon and Pamela Perkins expire in November.

The city has one seat up for re-election on the board of Regional School Unit 24. Alice Dow’s term is expiring.

On the Ellsworth Public Library Board of Trustees, Rebecca Leamon’s term is expiring.

All the terms are for three years.

Nomination papers must be returned to the clerk’s office on or before Thursday, Sept. 16, at 5 p.m. Those who have their nomination papers in by the deadline will have their names printed on the Nov. 2 municipal ballot.

For council and library trustee, candidates must gather no fewer than 50 signatures from Ellsworth residents and no more than 100.

For the RSU board, candidates must gather at least 25 signatures but no more than 50.
