ELLSWORTH — The daughter of a Sorrento woman convicted of aggravated marijuana cultivation has been indicted on a charge of arson for allegedly burning down her mother’s house. Hancock County Sheriff Bill Clark said a federal grand jury indicted Cecelia Sanborn, 25, on Nov. 19. The grand jury charged Sanborn with damaging over $1,000 worth of federal property. Sanborn allegedly set fire to the Sorrento house in 2006, two days after a federal court granted forfeiture of the house and land to police, Clark said. The house was completely destroyed. The Hancock County Drug Task Force was to receive 72 percent of the equity when the property was sold, the sheriff said. It is unclear how much the task force would have netted from the sale of the house, but the land netted $92,554. The maximum possible sentence Sanborn faces is 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. Sanborn is represented by Terence Harrigan. A date for Sanborn’s arraignment was not available before press time. Sanborn’s mother, Roxana, and Craig Folsom were arrested in 2004 in connection with one of the largest drug busts in Hancock County history.
